…I get a postcard, you get a postcard…
When I was in third grade or so, we made an excursion to the local post office. It was two subway stations from my home and you could have walked there within 20 minutes. It was quite exciting to see how the packages and letter were stored and sent. As a special gift, everybody got a pre-stamped envelope and we could write to whomever we thought its worth sending a letter. That was the first letter I received in my life. Since we were told that we can send up to 20g (which is about two third of an ounce for the imperialistic thinking), I had to add something cheap but yet worthwhile to add to an envelope. Maybe I should have added more than one ink cartridge, but I guess I did not have many left.
That was one of the few times I got a positive message by mail. With the years, I guess like many of you, I figured out that only bad news come by mail. Which is true in Germany, in the US of A it’s bad news combined with lots and lots of trees processed into the lowest-end format of advertisement I know. So why don’t we change this and send each other some postcards? Just for the sake of getting something nice by mail. And it’s not only nice, it’s free too. Without ulterior motives. If you send me a postcard with your address I will send you a postcard too. And if you are interested in more than one postcard, let me know, I am sure we can find the deal. To make your life a bit more happy than it already is, send the postcard to…
